Female Standing Pose – Part 03 Final Details

Posted on 2012/03/21 at 10:30 by daarken 13 Comments

This is the final part of the female standing pose tutorial. In this part Daarken will quickly block in the hands, feet, and face as well as continue to refine the painting. Instead of an audio commentary, this part is accompanied by some music. Sit back and enjoy the final part of the female standing pose!

The reference photo was taken from Marcus Ranum’s deviantArt site. His gallery is full of great reference material, so be sure to check it out. Link to the reference image used in the tutorial.

Ended up amazing!.. Have you got any plans on creating a ” color on grayscale ” tutorial? i bet lots of people would be interested in that! i know you’re kinda starting with these more basic tutorials.. and im all for that too :) that was just an idea

Im also starting to get really interested in backgrounds lately.. maybe sometimes in the future you could make a series about that?

( I’m sounding really demanding right now.. OTL )

I know lots of time and effort goes into creating tutorials like these.. and you’re posting them for free too! keep it up! :] and thank you!

    Hey Daarken,

I had a question which has been baffling me for a while.

I’ve heard artists say that there are areas on the body where the blood is closer to the skin and those areas tend to look more reddish or pinkish…is there a way to know where those areas are or if there is some resource that could guide me on that?

Hey, not Daarken but what I know about the topic is usually the nose, ears and cheeks tend to be reddish for that reason, also hands are feet often show these.

Ah thank you, I was wondering also about shoulders and like the upper chest area (prior to the breasts). I was wondering if there is a sort of a map of the body that shows such areas.
