Analysis of Form – Female Bust Part 01

In this video Daarken will start a drawing from life of a female bust. In this first section Daarken will talk about blocking in the drawing. Since these videos are all filmed in real time, the video is broken up into three parts. This first part only covers blocking in the line drawing.

Another great video, looking forward to part 2.
I wanted to ask, would you recommend getting some plaster busts to study light and form from as a reasonable substitute for painting from live models, if its difficult to get to life drawing class?
Sure, they can always help, especially with lighting. The only problem is that they aren’t posable, so you will have to end up drawing the same thing over and over.
FIRST! I think… Anyway, great video, but short. :( I want more!
There are 3 parts, this was only part 1.
What’s up with the gloves if you don’t mind me asking?
And as always, great video and much, much thanks for these.
The gloves are for carpal tunnel. I talk about them in my other videos, like this one.
Nice, I guess I missed that video when I found your site.
Hi Daarken !
Nice video. I was wondering what software did you use to capture your screen ? The quality is awesome…
I used to use Camtasia but now I use Screenflow.
great vid *-*
i have a big problem breaking down a complex image to simple shapes, i always thing in the image what the image is and not what shape the image is… if that make sense
xD
thanks a lot 4 the great tutorial
I’m wondering where you got your bust from? I’ve been looking for busts and other sculptures to draw and paint for a long time. But I seem to find stuff that is either poor quality or it costs far too much for me to justify buying it.
Any tips or places you can recommend?
Hah, I actually got mine from school. They didn’t want it anymore, so my wife grabbed it.
我想知道如何能看到你的视频,我是看不到视频的,只能看到文字的叙述
The video works for other people, so I’m not sure what the problem is. Maybe your country or browser is blocking it. You can also try going directly to vimeo to see if it works there.
